Sung Rosary composed for the Province’s 800th Jubilee
Two years ago the Province’s Jubilee Commission commissioned friars Dominic White and Rudolf Lowenstein to compose a Sung Rosary as part of the Province’s 800th Jubilee celebrations. The idea was a piece of music that would not just be an anniversary “one off”, but something of enduring value for the English Dominicans’ life and preaching.
Owing to Covid, the project got somewhat delayed, but now the music is not only finished but the Sung Rosary learning video is up on YouTube (see below) or on Radio Maria.
Plans are underway to organise a Province-wide event at the Rosary Shrine in London in 2023, if possible with a choir!
The YouTube version is unaccompanied, to make it as simple as possible to learn. The sheet music is available from Fr Dominic White OP, including a version with organ accompaniment and choir part, to use according to the resources of your local community.
Happy singing (praying twice)!
Yvonne
