Local Groups

There are regular events for young adults at our priories across the country, as well as other groups that meet connected to the wider Dominican family. Join our mailing list or WhatsApp Community, or follow us on social media (@DominicanYoungAdults), to keep up-to-date with events.

DYA London – St Dominic’s, The Rosary Shrine

DYA meets every first Friday of the month for a sung Mass in the Lady Chapel followed by a social in the parish hall. We are joined by different preachers each month, and Mass is accompanied by the Schola, led by Michael Bevan.

DYA Leicester – Holy Cross Priory

DYA meets every fourth Wednesday of the month, for an evening of prayer, fellowship, and formation. There is a parish Mass at 6.10pm, and after that, from around 7pm, we begin with Eucharistic Adoration and the opportunity for confession. A social follows in the Frassati Centre (the parish hall), and then a short talk. The talks follow the theme ‘What Catholics believe about….’, and recent topics have included Baptism, the Blessed Virgin Mary, freedom, and the Saints. The evening finishes with Compline (night prayer) at 9pm.

DYA Scotland

Beginning in 2026, a series of study days will take place in different locations in Scotland, including Edinburgh, Aberdeen, and Glasgow. There will also be a Scottish study week beginning from July 2027.

More regularly during the year, the Catholic Chaplaincy to Edinburgh University meets at the Dominican priory in Edinburgh, St Albert’s.

Oxford – Blackfriars 

• Blackfriars Oxford hosts the Aquinas Group, a weekly reading group in termtime, offering young adults an opportunity to enrich their spiritual and intellectual lives by studying the writings of St Thomas Aquinas.

Cambridge – Blackfriars 

• Blackfriars Cambridge has reading groups and other activities open to young adults. Check their website for more information.

Thomistic Institute Chapters

The Thomistic Institute exists to promote Catholic truth in our contemporary world by strengthening the intellectual formation of Christians at universities, in the Church, and in the wider public square. The thought of St. Thomas Aquinas, the Universal Doctor of the Church, is our touchstone. There are campus chapters at a number of cities and universities in the UK (London, Oxford, Cambridge, Southampton, Edinburgh, St Andrews), as well as a couple of Intellectual Retreats held each year.
