News | On Saturday 4th July, the Brothers celebrated the Diaconal Ordination of Br Joseph Bailham, OP, at the hands of Philip Egan, the Bishop of Portsmouth.
On Saturday 4 July, the feast of Bl Pier Giorgio Frassati, Br Joseph Bailham, OP was ordained to the diaconate at the hands of Philip Egan, the Bishop of Portsmouth. We are very thankful, both to Bishop Philip for agreeing to come and ordain Br Joseph, and also to His Grace Bernard Longley, the Archbishop of Birmingham, for allowing the ordination to take place during these difficult times.
Usually ordination’s would be a day when we could welcome many of our congregation to join us in the celebrations, but because of the ongoing pandemic both the ordination Mass and the celebrations afterwards had to be closed to just the community.
Br Joseph will soon leave Oxford to take up duties at our London priory, as well as other responsibilities within the province for vocation promotion and work with young adults. Please pray for him as he prepares to move and take up these new responsibilities.
