DYM Study Day: Science and Faith
About the day
The day will explore the relationship between faith and science, countering common misconceptions, with special attention given to the great Catholic scientists Galileo and Lemaître. The day will be led by Fr Robert Verrill, a mathematician, physicist and Dominican friar who has particular interest in science and faith, and whose articles on this subject can be found in the Catholic Herald.
There will also be plenty of time for questions and discussion, as well as the opportunity to meet fellow young Catholics. We will celebrate Mass together in the priory church, and lunch will be provided. There is no cost to attend, but registration is essential.
Who is it for?
The day is open to any young adults (18-35), including those new to the Catholic tradition or looking to deepen their faith. The day will be of particular interest to those with a scientific background, although no expertise required.
