On Thursday 8th October the Dominican brethren and students of Blackfriars Hall and Studium celebrated a votive Mass of the Holy Spirit with Vespers to mark the beginning of the new academic year. Fr Simon Gaine, O.P., the Regent of Studies, preached about the importance of the pursuit of truth and how, unlike God who has no need to seek truth for He enjoys it eternally, we need to strive for knowledge of it and rejoice in coming to know it.
Following the liturgical celebrations, the students joined the friars in the refectory for a meal in order to get to know each other better.
