Remembering the Jubilee Pilgrimage 2021
In these early days of August, we are pleased to recall the popular walking pilgrimage that took place one year ago, from Kent to Oxford, marking the 800th anniversary of the first Dominican friars to land in Britain.
Those looking for inspiration can now view our Jubilee legacy page on this website, that gives access to the videos and other materials from last year.
- Maybe you are looking for ideas for your own excursion?
- Or maybe you would just like to re-watch the daily video posts that were shared by the friars from along the route?
And don’t forget St Dominic’s day is on Monday 8th August – a great opportunity for visiting a (past or present) Dominican priory (see map)!

I went along to intercept the walking friars at Aylesford Priory on their pilrimage last year but unfortunately they were delayed and I couldn’t wait. Nevertheless I said a prayer for them and their intention.

So lovely to see you all looking so happy and joyful. So lovely to see yet another photograph of our friend Br. John Church also looking as he always does…in his element! Marvellous of you to keep in touch with us and much more please! Praise and rejoicing, Ivor and Susan Lloyd.

Thanks for the online trip down memory lane. As mentioned at the time, next time how about the North Wales Camino, but the correct way round?
