DYA 2026 Pilgrimage to Turin
Join the Dominican friars for a summer pilgrimage to Turin in the footsteps of St Pier Giorgio Frassati!
About the pilgrimage
Led by a group of friars, our trip will follow in the footsteps of St Pier Giorgio Frassati, visiting places such as his parish church in Turin, his family’s summer home in the village of Pollone, and the Marian sanctuary of Oropa—a UNESCO heritage site—where the saint used to visit regularly to pray and to hike up the surrounding mountains.
We will begin in Turin, where we will explore the city and celebrate Mass in the cathedral where St Pier Giorgio is buried. We will then move on to the sanctuary at Oropa and spend a few days there. While in Oropa, there will be the opportunity to hike to the summit of Mt Mucrone, one of the major peaks of the region and often climbed by St Pier Giorgio. On the final day we will head to Pollone, to visit the summer home of the Frassati family.
Our pilgrimage will also include talks on the life of St Pier Giorgio, as well as time for prayer and fraternity, and spiritual renewal inspired by this great saint!
Who is it for?
The pilgrimage is open to any young adults (20s and 30s), including those new to the Catholic tradition or looking to deepen their faith. Our time in Oropa will involve a big hike, and it is also likely to be very hot, so be prepared!
When is it happening?
We fly from London Gatwick to Turin in the morning of Monday 3rd August 2026, and return from Turin to London Gatwick in the evening of Friday 7th August 2026.
How much does it cost?
