DYA Study Day: Understanding Purgatory with Aquinas and Dante
About the day
Join us for a day exploring the doctrine of Purgatory with two of the greatest minds the Church has ever produced: the theologian St Thomas Aquinas, and the poet Dante Alighieri.
The day will include Mass, talks and workshops, prayer, fellowship and discussion, and lunch will be provided. There is no cost to attend, but registration is essential.
Speakers
Fr Robert Ombres OP teaches canon law and moral theology at Blackfriars, Oxford. He studied and taught for many years at the Angelicum in Rome, and has published widely in both canon law and morals, and is on the editorial boards of the periodicals New Blackfriars, Law & Justice and Ecclesiastical Law Journal. He maintains a wide range of interests, particularly in the poet and artist David Jones. He is the author of The Theology of Purgatory (1978).
Who is it for?
The day is open to any young adults (20s & 30s), including those looking to deepen their faith or new to the Catholic tradition.
