General Chapter 2013: Trogir

The General Chapter, the highest authority in the Order of Preachers, will be gathering on 22 July at Trogir in Croatia. After Rome 2010, which elected Fr Bruno Cadoré OP as Master of the Order and 86th successor to St Dominic, this General Chapter will be much smaller. It will consist of delegates (called ‘diffinitors’ if sent by a Province) from all over the world, but not the Priors Provincial. Perhaps one of the most important discussions this year will be to review the rationalisation of the Vicariates, which was mandated by the 2010 General Chapter to simplify the entities within the Order. Our Oxford community will be sending a few brothers to this Chapter, including a Moderator, a Diffinitor and a former Master of the Order.
