Cardinal Nichols launches the new Rosary Shrine
On Saturday 22 October, Cardinal Vincent Nichols inaugurated the Dominican church of Our Lady of the Rosary and St Dominic, London NW5, as the Westminster Diocesan Shrine of the Holy Rosary.
This beautiful church – with its fifteen altars themed according to the mysteries of the Rosary – is now seeing the fulfilment of the intentions of those who built it in the 19th century.
This is a moment of profound joy for the Dominican Order, which has always been closely associated with the Rosary; and it is a fine and enduring way to mark our 800th Jubilee celebrations. The Shrine is already planning a packed programme of events for the year ahead.
A full report of the day, with many pictures, can be viewed at the Rosary Shrine website.
