Easter Sunday

“This is the day which was made by the Lord: let us rejoice and be glad, alleluia.“

The Vigil began in the Priory cloister outside the church, gathered round the fire. From there we processed into the church carrying the Paschal Candle.

The liturgy continued in the church, and at the Gloria all the lights came on. It is traditionally also the time when Dominicans remove their black capas, which are no longer worn in choir until All Souls (November 2nd).
