DYM Study Day: Liturgy and Life

DYM Study Day: Liturgy and Life

About the day

Our tendency to compartmentalise life can perhaps mean that for some the Liturgy ends when we say “Thanks be to God” at the end of Mass. But the Liturgy is something which should animate all of our life, and through engaging in worship, our whole personality and way of approaching the world can change.

During the course of the day there will be three sessions, time for questions and discussion, as well as the opportunity to meet fellow young Catholics. We will celebrate Mass together in the priory church, and lunch will be provided. There is no cost to attend, but registration is essential.

Who is it for?

The day is open to any young adults (18-35), including those new to the Catholic tradition or looking to deepen their faith.

Br John: john.church@english.op.org

Br John is a deacon in his final year of studies at Blackfriars Oxford, preparing for priestly ordination. He is the Promotor of the Dominican Youth Movement. He first encountered the Dominicans while studying Classics at Oxford, and entered the noviciate in 2018. An attraction to religious life initially grew out of time spent working with the Missionaries of Charity, which then crystallised into a Dominican vocation through a desire to integrate the contemplative life with preaching and study.
