DYA Study Day: Understanding the Eucharist as Sacrifice
About the day
Sacrosanctum Concilium, the document of the Second Vatican Council on the Sacred Liturgy, states that “At the Last Supper, on the night when He was betrayed, our Saviour instituted the eucharistic sacrifice of His Body and Blood.” (§47) What does it mean to speak of the Mass as a ‘eucharistic sacrifice’? Is this idea Biblical? How are we called to share in this sacrifice?
Join us for a study day on this topic led by Fr Gregory Pearson OP. We will focus on certain texts from Scripture, especially the Book of Leviticus, as well as those used in the Liturgy. The day will include talks, workshops, prayer, fellowship, and discussion, and lunch will be provided. There is no cost to attend, but booking is essential.
